About Us
Arthur B. Elmers established Homestead Lawn Sprinkler Co. in 1973. Arthur B. Elmers, A Graduate of University of Massachusetts with Graduate studies at Rutgers University as an agronomist. Arthur’s professional experience as Superintendent of golf courses in and around Northern New Jersey was the catalyst that leads to the establishment of Homestead Lawn Irrigation Company. He began as a small “mom & pop” business. It expanded becoming incorporated in 1984 a few years later the business had transferred ownership to his son Dennis M. Elmers, President of Homestead Lawn Sprinkler Co. Dennis grew in the field of irrigation learning all aspects of Lawn Irrigation from design servicing and installation. Pride is taken in face to face interaction with all Homestead customers both present and future. Dennis Elmers is a graduate of Seton Hall University, and has attended educational/technical courses through out his 30 years of operating the business. He has embraced all new technologies keeping his company in the forefront of the Irrigation industry. Dennis Elmers has served as a trustee and Education Chairman on the board of the New Jersey Irrigation Association.
On a personal note, in 2013 Dennis traveled to Haiti on a mission trip to help the people of Haiti. He was able to teach local farmers, by designing a Drip Irrigation system to get water from a water tower that pumped to a field where he along with the farmers installed the drip irrigation to water crops that were planted. He is most blessed to have that opportunity sharing his knowledge to help others less fortunate.
